Welcome to my bio - I hope you like my paintings as much as I enjoy creating them. I was born and raised in Castleford but moved to the Lincolnshire countryside in 2008. I am an artist and Author of 'Moo' The story of a highland cow called Floss. A book inspired by my real life rescue of a highland cow called Floss that had been on the run in my village for 6 months and had I not intervened was destined for a bad ending. I have painted for many years...formerly in watercolours but I took up oils this year after watching re-runs of a now very popular tv show. My uncle and Great Uncle were accomplished artists using oils so maybe I should have tried them sooner!. I like to paint realism in my landscapes and animal scenes. I also do commissions of animals (I specialise in horses at very reasonable rates of from £80 for 16 x 12 inch unframed oil - no obligation to buy if you don't like the photo I send you of the work - then you do not pay). Please contact me if you would like me to send you examples of previous commission work. I like painting on different surfaces and have started using hand made linen boards but use other canvas too. Over the years I have had work in various exhibitions across Yorkshire (including in Ilkley where I was made "Friend of the British Society of water colour artists there " ) and I already have works in various private collections. When I am not working or painting, I love riding through the local countryside enjoying wildlife and nature and caring for my menagerie of creatures, three horses, Milo, Rocky and Flash, pet goose called Gosley, pet pig called peanut, twelve pet ducks, various pet hens and cockerels and two chinchillas.
