Sue Wright (Sulaluna), a Manchester based artist and member of the Northern Womens' Art Collective. I believe Art is a cure for a sagging spirit. It is a compulsion, something that I have to do, something I feel, something I’ll always do. I am very much inspired by life, love, passion, womanhood and influenced by some great works of Chagall, Picasso and Khalo. My paintings may incorporate recollections of personal childhood memories, of the sixties and seventies era’s, a mix of music and dance, gardens, exotic flowers, dresses, sumptuous fabrics, folklore and mythology, including the real, the imaginary and the in-between. My work ranges from paintings and textiles/embroidery to collages and sculptures, sometimes including salvaged or vintage finds, anything remotely interesting. Essentially I like to see the extraordinary in the ordinary; I’m not restricted by genre or medium. Original works and prints in collections UK, USA and Canada. Custom work/commissions most welcome. Please contact me if you have any queries regarding a specific item or requirement, and thanks for looking.
