Sophia Ench is a British experimental artist based in London. She juxtaposes elements of reality with surrealism using oil and acrylic paint. She studied art at college and drew inspiration from American abstract expressionism and abstract photography. Her work employs bold and vibrant colorful brushstrokes, and experiments with mixed media such as oil and acrylic paint to express her passion towards travel and culture. She began her career as artist in the 90s when she won a school prize for her abstract portrait of Marilyn Monroe, and continues to work to this day.
