I started painting in my early teens, inspired mainly by those fantastic 'Paint Along With Nancy' programmes that used to be on TV in the school holidays. I went on to do an Art & Design Foundation Studies course at Batley Art College and a BA (Hons) degree in Decorative Applied Arts at Manchester Metropolitan University. I now live on the edge of the Peak District in Derbyshire. My subjects are drawn from the landscape that I am lucky enough to have on the doorstep, as well as from scenes that catch my eye on my travels, in the UK and overseas. I work from photographs and sketches, mostly in acrylic using a combination of palette knives and brushes.
