As a former teacher of art and design and Deputy Head Teacher with responsibility for child welfare, I had little time to devote to my own art work. Having now retired to the Scottish Borders I can now take inspiration from the spectacular scenery and nature that Scotland has in abundance. Experimenting and creating with felting wool and hand embroidery has been the main focus of my work for the past few years as well as paintings of Scottish scenes. They seem to be fitting materials to depict the beauty of the natural environment. I am an active member of our local art club and deliver demonstrations, talks and workshops to them and other local groups. Exhibiting my work in venues within the Scottish Borders, I have been lucky enough to make sale and to undertake commissions. I hope that you will enjoy looking at my work as much as I have enjoyed making each piece.
