Amanda is a self taught Hampshire artist, who painted semi-professionally for several years. During that time she hung successfully at a number of local galleries, including the First Floor Gallery in Romsey, where she regularly took part in exhibitions, the Black Horse Gallery in Salisbury, and also in Dummer and Minstead. She was at this time also invited to become a member of the Wessex Artists. Amanda is now taking up her paintbrushes again with renewed vigour and inspiration. She specialises in animal art, especially of the canine variety, working in acrylic, pastel, pencil and pen and ink mediums. Amanda welcomes commissions, in particular for pet portraits. Working from good quality photos her aim is to capture that special elusive quality that expresses the unique character of each individual animal, especially as reflected in the eyes.
