- Artist's description
Those Golden Palaces of Memory is a multi-layered monoprint made with acrylics on paper using gel printing. The title comes I think from a poem, although I can't now remember which one! The image is about 7" x 5" (18cm x 13cm) and it has been mounted with acid free card to fit a frame 10" x 8" (25cm x 20cm). It will be shipped flat in a reinforced envelope.

- About Ian Bertram
I started life as a planner working in local government. After 30 odd (some very odd!) years redundancy led me to working for myself until a bout of illness ended that. Rather than trying to pick up the pieces again, I first started making jewellery, then started selling my photographs and digital prints. After a visit to a print studio where I saw work by Howard Hodgkin and Gillian Ayres in production I was hooked and enrolled on a printmaking course. I still take photos, but these days I focus on printmaking, but I also make collage and mixed media. Most of the work here is likely to be small studies exploring colour palettes and compositions. During the coronavirus pandemic, everything sold here will be as part of the #supportartistspledge. See all of Ian Bertram's work
