ShalimarBy Ian Bertram

Shalimar is a monotype, made with acrylic paints on paper. The image grew out of a desire to explore more geometric structures than my normal work, It is in part a homage to the Californian artist, Richard Diebenkorn. The specific process used was gel printing, with additional lines drawn in Indian ink. The print has been mounted on a cradled wooden panel with black painted edges and sealed with varnish. Recently exhibited at the Victoria Gallery, Bath in the Bath Society of Artists Open 2021.
