Poppy Field, Ripon - Framed LandscapeBy Martin Snee

I love the countryside around Ripon in North Yorkshire, and this is a view looking west across fields from just outside the town. I have painted this view several times, starting with a small watercolour sketch in 2004. I painted this version in 2019 using that same sketch as inspiration, but really bringing out the colours and using a mixture of brush and palette knife to give a loose, vibrant feel.
