Maiden Castle is the vast hill fort that sits high above the town of Dorchester. It is a place of peace and beauty, but so huge that it is hard to find a view point.. I chose this view across the fields at the foot of the earth walls using a wide canvas to give some idea of the scope of the landscape. The muted palette gives a sense of the the peacefulness of this ancient place, while in contrast, the visible brush strokes hint at a hidden power.<br />
